Creating a Text post soon

You can create a Text post on Haiilo that contains only text, with no links, images, videos, or files. When users share the post, only the sharing message is published to LinkedIn or Bluesky.

Text posts work differently from other post types. The sharing message is the entire social media post. If a user edits the sharing message before sharing, they are effectively creating their own version of the post.

For helpful tips on how to make the most of the text-only post, check out Making the most of Text posts.

Text Post Essentials

  • Sharing: Text posts can only be shared to LinkedIn or Bluesky.
  • Appearance: Text posts look as follows:
    • On Haiilo: Text posts appear on your feed with a title and a simple 'T' image as a placeholder. There are three default colors for the placeholder image, making it easier to distinguish different text posts. Currently, these colors can't be changed.
    • On LinkedIn / Bluesky: Text posts are published as text-only posts. Only the sharing message is included. The Haiilo title and placeholder image are not shared.
  • Editing Messages: Before sharing, users can edit the sharing message. Because the sharing message is the only content that gets published, users can completely rewrite the text and create a different version of the post for their social network. An edited sharing message becomes a Custom message.
  • Analytics: Text posts gather reaction data, such as likes and comments, but do not collect click data.
    • Analytics won't show the content of a Custom sharing message when using the drilldown by sharing message. All Custom messages for a post are shown consolidated into a single row called "Custom".

Step 1: Enter sharing messages

  1. Select Text at the top of the feed.
  2. Enter a title for your post. This title is visible only within Haiilo and will not appear when the post is shared. Use this field to shortly explain the post content to your users.
  3. Select the social networks on which the post can be shared and write at least one recommended message for each network. In a text post, only the sharing message is shared to social media.
    • The character limits are 2950 for LinkedIn and 300 for Bluesky.
    • You can write multiple messages by selecting + Add message.
    • If enabled for your platform, use AI to generate sharing messages based on your entered post title.
  4. Define the points per network that users receive for sharing the post. This option is only available for admins.
  5. Select Continue.

Step 2: Configure

  1. Select the channels where you want your post to appear. You must add at least one channel, but you can add multiple channels.
  2. Set the post's language. The language is automatically set based on the content of the post, but we recommend verifying that the language is correct.
  3. Add a campaign for your post. This option is only available for admins.
  4. Enable or disable comments for your post. This option is only available for admins.
  5. Optionally, enable additional options, such as read confirmation, featured posts, or notify users immediately. These options are only available for admins.
  6. Select Continue.

Step 3: Confirm

  1. In the last step, you can write comments or an explanation for your post. These comments will be displayed above the post when it's published and will only be visible internally within the platform, not when shared on social media. We suggest using this field to inform your users why they should share the post on their social networks.
  2. If you want to delay the post's publication, select Schedule post and define a date and time for it to be published. This option is only available for admins. Scheduled posts show on the Scheduled feed until they are published.
  3. Once you are happy with your post, select Publish to submit the post. Unless you schedule it, your post will be published immediately.
    • If you are a user, your post will need to be approved by an admin before it is published.
