You can enable User Anonymization on your platform, allowing users to choose to be anonymous. This allows users to conceal their quantitative activity from other users and admins while they continue to use Haiilo like all other users. Being anonymous is always the user's choice – admins cannot make individual users anonymous or alter their anonymity settings.
You can optionally fully anonymize your Analytics for all users on your platform, ensuring that no admin can view any individual user activity data. Users can still be identified as themselves elsewhere on the platform, except in the Analytics.
To activate User Anonymization, reach out to your Customer Success or Account Manager from Haiilo for assistance.
How it works
When you're using User Anonymization, it has the following effect per platform area or feature:
Registration & Account Set-Up |
An extra step added is added to the onboarding for new users registering for your platform, allowing users to choose how they appear to others: by name or as Anonymous. Learn more in User onboarding journey. Users can change this setting later in their User account settings. Admins cannot set their users to be anonymous. |
Post Interaction |
When an anonymous user likes a post, it shows to other users as being done by Anonymous. However, when an anonymous user comments on a post, it displays to other users by the user's name. |
Post Creation | When an anonymous user proposes or publishes content, the post's author is displayed to other users by the user's name. |
Sharing Posts | When an anonymous user shares content on social media, the post is shared on the user's social media feed under the name they use there. |
Leaderboard & Points |
Users see themselves normally on the Leaderboard; however, their activity is displayed as Anonymous to others. Other users can still view the points that the Anonymous user has earned. |
Analytics | Each anonymous user's analytics are anonymized to conceal their activity from admins. Any shares the user has done or clicks or reactions their posts have received cannot be attributed to them. |
User Management | In the Users menu, admins can see which users have chosen to appear anonymous, allowing them to manage the platform and communicate with all users. However, admins cannot view anonymous users' points. |
