Managing users

As a Company or Group Admin, you can edit or delete users from your platform and move them between groups.

For information on creating users, read our Onboarding articles.

Edit a user

You can edit a user's first and last name, email address, and role. Find more information about changing a user's role in the articles in our Roles and Permissions section.

  1. Go to Administration > Users
  2. Find the user you want to edit. You can filter or search the Users menu to narrow down the list
  3. Select the icon on the user's row
  4. Edit the user's information as you want
  5. Select Update to apply the changes

The changes are applied immediately. Users need to be edited individually; you cannot edit multiple users at the same time on the platform.

Move a user to another group

You can change a user's group by moving them to another group on their platform. Only Company Admins can move users between groups.

  1. Go to Administration > Users
  2. You can move one or multiple users at the same time. If you're moving multiple users, you have to move them to the same group. If you want to move users to different groups, you need to move them separately.
    • Move one user:
      1. Find the user you want to move. You can filter or search the Users menu to narrow down the list
      2. Select the icon on the user's row
    • Move multiple users:
      1. Check all the users that you want to move
      2. Select the icon on top of the Users menu
  3. Select the group to which you want to move the user(s)
  4. Select Move users

The users are immediately moved to their new group. Any teams they were part of in their previous group will be removed. If you'd like the users to be part of teams in the new group, you need to add them to the teams.

Delete a user

You can delete users from your platform, for example, when an employee leaves your company. Users can also delete their own accounts in their User account settings.

  1. Go to Administration > Users
  2. You can delete one or multiple users at the same time.
    • Delete one user:
      1. Find the user you want to delete. You can filter or search the Users menu to narrow down the list
      2. Select the icon on the user's row
    • Delete multiple users:
      1. Check all the users that you want to delete
      2. Select the icon on top of the Users menu
  3. Select Yes, delete users to confirm the deletion

The users are immediately deleted. Deleted users cannot be restored.

You can automate user deletion by utilizing SCIM provisioning. Learn more in Managing users with SCIM provisioning.

When a user is deleted, all their points and reactions are also deleted. Any posts that the user created before being deleted remain on the platform; however, the user's name will be removed from the posts and replaced with your platform's company name as defined in the General settings.
