You can create a Document post on Haiilo by uploading or dragging and dropping a PDF file from your computer. When the post is shared, it will appear on LinkedIn as a browsable carousel post.
Document Post Essentials
- Format & Creation: Only PDF files are supported in Document posts. Additionally, posts can only be created on the browser version of Haiilo, not in the Haiilo Amplify mobile app.
- Sharing: Document posts can only be shared to LinkedIn.
-
Appearance:
- Document posts show only one thumbnail image on the Haiilo timeline, but appear as a carousel when shared to LinkedIn. To preview the carousel within Haiilo, click the post to open the preview.
- The thumbnail image is always the first page of the PDF file. It cannot be customized.
- Analytics: Document posts gather reaction data from LinkedIn, but do not collect click data.
Step 1: Upload a PDF
- Select Document in the Create a post box at the top of the feed.
- Upload or drag one PDF file into the area. Currently, only PDF files are supported, with a maximum size of 100MB and 300 pages.
- Define a title for your post. The title will be seen within the Haiilo platform and on the share on LinkedIn.
- Select Continue.
Step 2: Configure
- Select the channels where you want your post to appear. You must add at least one channel, but you can add multiple channels.
- Set the post's language. The language is automatically set based on the content of the file, but we recommend verifying that the language is correct.
- Add a campaign for your post. This option is only available for admins.
- Enable or disable comments for your post. This option is only available for admins.
- Optionally, enable additional options, such as read confirmation, featured posts, or notify users immediately. These options are only available for admins.
- Select an audience: External sharing or Internal reading. External sharing means the post can be shared on LinkedIn. If you choose External, you can also:
- Write recommended sharing messages for each network. You can write multiple messages by selecting the + icon or, if activated for your platform, use AI to generate sharing messages.
- Define the points per network that users earn for sharing the post. This option is only available for admins.
- Select Continue.
Step 3: Confirm
- In the last step, you can write comments or an explanation for your post. These comments will be displayed above the post when it's published and will only be visible internally within the platform, not when shared on LinkedIn. We suggest using this field to inform your users why they should share the post with their social connections.
- If you want to delay the post's publication, select Schedule and define a date and time for it to be published. This option is only available for admins. Scheduled posts show on the Scheduled feed until they are published.
- Once you are happy with your post, select Publish to submit the post. Unless you scheduled it, your post will be published immediately.
- If you are a user, your post will need to be approved by an admin before it is published.
Your PDF file needs to be processed in our system before it can appear on the timeline. Please be patient, as it may take a few minutes for the post to show up.
You cannot edit the PDF file in a Document post after the post has been published.
