When creating an Email Newsletter in Haiilo, you can choose between multiple different types of ready-made templates to include in your email. Each template already has example content types that you can easily edit or you can add individual rows and choose which content types to include yourself.
To start creating your own email, click the 'Content types' or 'Rows' heading on the right-hand side of the Email creator. You can choose between adding empty rows that you populate with content types yourself, or you can choose to work with default templates with pre-filled content types.
For each template or row of content in your email, you can define the following properties:
- the row's background color
- the content's background color
- size, color, padding and border of the columns. You can also add or delete columns
- whether you'd like to hide the row on desktop or mobile
Adding default templates
To use a template, find one to your liking by scrolling the list under the 'Default' selection. If you don't find one that is perfect, remember that you can always edit a template to your liking in the Email creator field. When you have found the template you want to use, drag it into the Email creator field and drop it on the section 'Drag it here'. You can add multiple templates to the same email if you like.
And now you have an email template that you can start editing the content types of. You can read more about the different content types and what options you have for editing them here.
Adding empty rows
If no template catches your eye, you can always create a completely blank template first by dragging rows into the Email creator. Rows lets you split the email into columns so you can have multiple content types on the same row.
Simply scroll the list under the 'Empty' selection to view available rows and drag a row into the Email creator field and drop it on the section 'Drag it here'. You can add multiple rows to the same email if you like.
After adding your rows, you need to add content types to your email in the different sections titled "No content here. Drag from the 'Content' panel". You can read more about the different content types and what options you have for your email here.
