Haiilo is an employee communications platform helping you to reach, engage and understand your employees. Haiilo integrates with Slack to allow for a seamless transition of communication between the tools, so that users will get notified in Slack of new content in selected Haiilo channels

An integration for Slack can only be set up by a Company Admin in Haiilo.

Set up an integration for Slack

1. Contact your dedicated Customer Success specialist from Haiilo to have the feature enabled for your platform.
2. After the feature has been enabled, an Add to Slack button will become visible on the home feed. Select that button to set up the integration.
3. You will be taken to a Slack permissions page, select Allow. Accepting the permissions is required for Haiilo to be able to post in Slack according to your set preferences later on.
4. You will be redirected to Slack to complete the setup, and a new app called Haiilo Share will be created.
5. To start the configuration, input your company subdomain and access token.
   • You can find the subdomain for your company by looking at the URL you use to access Haiilo. For example, in acme.smarpshare.com, acme is the subdomain
   • The access token can be generated from your profile settings in Haiilo if the access token feature has been enabled.
6. Select Submit. In the next window, select Register channel.
7. This will open a window where you select which Haiilo channel and which Slack channel you are connecting. In the example below, posts created in the Haiilo channel "Blog" will trigger a notification in the Slack channel #salesnyc.
   

   If you want to set up the integration from Haiilo to a Private Slack channel, you also have to add the Haiilo app to the channel from the channel's settings. Otherwise the Haiilo bot cannot post in that channel.

8. Select Submit and the integration is ready! If you navigate back to the Home tab you will be able to see the connected feed information under Current Connections. From this tab you can also remove the integration.

Now when you create a post on Haiilo in the selected channel, you should receive a Slack notification in the selected Slack channel within a few minutes. Users will be able to see the post title, image and in which channel in Haiilo the post has been published. If users select the title of the post in Slack, they will be taken to the post on Haiilo.

Remove a channel for Slack

In case you want to remove one channel connection from your Slack integration, follow the steps below:

1. In the Haiilo Share app on Slack, go to the Home tab
2. Under Current Connections, find the channel connection you want to remove
3. Select the X icon on that row

Only the admin that setup the channel connection can remove it in the Slack app.

Reset an integration for Slack

In case you want to reset your Slack integration or make changes to the access token, follow the steps below:

1. In the Haiilo Share app on Slack, go to the Messages tab
2. Type in the command /haiilo reset_token and hit Enter for the configuration to reset
3. Go to the Home tab and set up the connection again as explained above from step 5 onwards.
