Under Widgets in the Settings tab, you can create an iframe widget that you can integrate into, for example, your company intranet or website.
Using widgets requires the Content Booster paid add-on. If you want to acquire the add-on, please contact your Account Manager from Haiilo for assistance.
Create an iFrame
To create a widget, do the following:
- choose a channel or many from which you want posts to be displayed in the widget.
- edit the title that is displayed with your widget, or opt to have no title at all.
- change the dimensions for the widget. They are automatically set to 300x500, but you can edit the dimensions according to your preference to ensure that it fits into your intranet and displays correctly.
On the right, you can preview the widget and how it will appear once it's embedded in your intranet.
When you are done, simply copy the code snippet and embed this into your intranet. Reach out to your company's IT department regarding how to best embed the widget into your intranet or website.
An embedded iFrame will display external content only, unless your users are logged into Haiilo in the same browser session as they are logged into wherever you placed the widget. For example, if the widget is placed in your intranet, users will see both external and internal content from Haiilo in the widget as long as they are logged into Haiilo in the same browser session as they are viewing your intranet. If the channel you selected for your widget only has internal content, it will display as blank for users that are not logged into Haiilo.
Example: Embed an iFrame widget on SharePoint
- Set up the widget on Haiilo Advocacy following the steps above
- Copy the code snippet
- On your SharePoint page, make sure you're in Edit mode. If you're not, click Edit at the top right of the page.
- If you don't already have an Embed web part on your page, hover your mouse above or below an existing web part or under the title region, click +, and then select the Embed </> web part from the list.
- In the property pane on the right, paste the code snippet you copied earlier into the Website address or embed code box.
- Exit the property pane, and the widget should load with your Haiilo content
Some companies block embedding content from external websites on their SharePoint. If you see an error message that says, "Embedding content from this website isn't allowed", contact your company's SharePoint administrator for assistance.
Example: Embed an iFrame widget on Haiilo Intranet
