Creating a Video post

You can create a Video post on Haiilo by uploading one video. When a video post is shared on social media, it will be playable for viewers. The Video feature is only visible if it's been enabled for your platform.

You cannot edit a video post's audience and video after the post is published.

Step 1: Select audience

  1. Select Video in the Create a post box at the top of the feed
  2. Select an audience: External sharing or Internal reading. External sharing means the post can be shared on social media. If you choose External, you can select the social networks on which the post can be shared. There are certain requirements for a video depending on the selected audience and networks:

LinkedIn X Facebook Instagram Internal post
Size Max. 200MB Max. 512MB Max. 50MB no limit Max. 500MB
Type mp4 mp4, mov no limit mp4 mp4, native iOS or Android video
    Aspect ratio 1:3-3:1 1:3-3:1 1:3-3:1 1:3-3:1
Resolution between 360x360 and 4320x4320 between 32x32 and 1024x1024 no limit min 640x640 up to up to 1280x720
    Duration 3 sec - 30 min 0.5 - 140 sec no limit 3 sec - 10 min
  3. Select Next

If you select all or a combination of networks, our system will have to enforce the strictest network requirements on the video post to ensure it is shareable to all selected networks. This means if you, for example, select LinkedIn and X as networks, your video can only be at max. 200MB and under 140 seconds as these are the strictest requirements for your selected networks.

Step 2: Add a video

  1. Upload a video that follows the requirements listed above depending on your audience and networks. After uploading, you can still remove and replace your video. However, the video cannot be changed after publishing.
  2. Give your post a title
  3. Optionally, upload a different thumbnail for your video. The image will be displayed in a 16:9 ratio. However, custom thumbnails may not be supported by social networks, so the video may look different when shared.
  4. Select Next

Step 3: Configure

  1. Select the channels where you want your post to appear. You must add at least one channel, but you can add multiple channels.
  2. Set the post's language. The language is automatically set based on the content of the post, but we recommend verifying that the language is correct.
  3. Add a campaign for your post. This option is only available for admins.
  4. Enable or disable comments for your post. This option is only available for admins.
  5. If you selected External as your post's audience in Step 1, you can also:
    1. Write recommended messages for each selected network. You can write multiple messages by selecting the + icon or, if activated for your platform, use AI to generate sharing messages.
    2. Define points per network that users receive for sharing the post. This option is only available for admins
  6. Optionally, enable additional options, such as read (view) confirmation, featured posts, or notify users immediately. These options are only available for admins.
  7. Select Next

Step 4: Confirm

  1. Optionally, write comments or an explanation for your post. These comments will be displayed above the post when it's published and will only be visible internally within the platform, not when shared on social media. We suggest using this field to inform your users why they should share the post on their social networks.
  2. If you want to delay the post's publication, select Schedule and define a date and time for it to be published. This option is only available for admins. Scheduled posts show on the Scheduled feed until they are published.
  3. Once you are happy with your post, select Done to submit the post. Unless you scheduled it, your post will be published immediately.
    • If you are a user, your post will need to be approved by an admin before it is published.

Your video needs to be transcoded in our system before it can be published. Please be patient as it may take a few minutes for the post to appear on your feed.
